   1913 Foundation of the forge as part of the Röchling'sche Eisen-und Stahlwerke GmbH share.

  1966, milestone event: upgrading of the forge.









  In 1993 the "Saarschmiede GmbH Freiformschmiede" is established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Saarstahl AG.









   In 2010, the new forge was opened: one of the most modern forges in the world, put into operation after two years of construction time.
